This is an art project based on parametric design, exploring how the simplest geometric language can be used to express emotions. Facial expressions do not require complex forms; they are defined by proportions, line curvature, and the spacing between points. By controlling these elements, different emotional expressions can be generated.
Built with Grasshopper, this project utilizes parametric logic to create variations of emoji-like facial expressions. Parameters such as eye size, spacing, position, mouth shape, and randomness define the characteristics of each expression, allowing them to change dynamically within a set of rules. Different parameter combinations produce diverse emotional expressions, demonstrating how simple geometric forms can convey recognizable emotions.
The core of parametric design lies in variability and logic—each parameter adjustment generates a new expression, making it a continuously evolving system. This project is not just a formal experiment but also an exploration of the relationship between computation and visual expression.
